ICCP Board of Directors
ICCP Board of Directors is an advisory board for the high school, pursuant to the action of the Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, as well as the President and Principal of IC Catholic Prep.
The members of the Board support and empower the administration, staff and faculty of IC Catholic Prep to execute on their mission to deliver the highest quality Catholic College Preparatory education available in the State of Illinois, while educating and developing the whole person in spirit, mind and body. With the Board structure, there are 6 committees to accomplish the objectives – Executive Committee; Finance Committee; Building & Facilities Committee; Development & Alumni Affairs Committee; Public Relations, Marketing & Admissions Committee; Curriculum, Student Life & Technology Committee.
Mr. Tom Ryan ’81
Chairman of The Board
Tom Ryan graduated from IC in 1981 and went on to attend the University of Illinois, College of Business, where he graduated in 1985 with a BA in Finance. Mr. Ryan began his career in banking by joining LaSalle National Bank where he worked for 23 years. He left LaSalle National Bank to join Cole Taylor Bank in 2008 as Group Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking. Cole Taylor Bank was recently purchased by MB Financial Bank, where Tom now works as a Group President. With more than 30 years of commercial banking experience, Mr. Ryan currently manages a team of relationship managers serving the needs of closely-held middle market businesses in the Chicago area.
He is a member of the ICCP Board of Directors and also serves as Director of the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Foundation. He is a former Board Member of the East-West Corporate Corridor Association and also served on the Lisle Economic Development Commission. He is a past President of the Visitation School Board and is a founding member of the Visitation Father’s Club in Elmhurst.
In addition to earning a BA in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Tom also holds an MBA from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University.
He currently resides in Elmhurst, with his wife, Mary Beth (Haggerty ’81), and their five children, Brendan (’08), Maggie (’10), Kathleen (’13), Clare (’16), and Tommy (’20).
Ms. Patricia Cassidy ‘80
Ms. Patricia Cassidy graduated from IC in 1980 and then attended the University of Illinois where she earned a BA degreefrom the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Continuing her education Trisha went on to earn her Master’s in Business Administration from Loyola University, Chicago. After gaining some experience in the business world, Trisha was hired by Loyola University Health System and took on many roles during her 22 years there, including directing various strategy and business development departments and becoming a senior vice-president within the organization. In 2009, Trisha’s hard work and dedication was acknowledged when she was named the President of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park when Gottlieb joined Loyola’s Health System. There she was responsible for the opening of a new cardiovascular unit, the implementation of a patient centered care modelthat attempted to put more control in the hands of patients in the hospital, and the opening of an Immediate Care Center in River Forest IL. Most recently, Trisha was appointed to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Alexian Brothers Health System. In her new role, Cassidy is responsible for developing, communicating, implementing and evaluating strategies for Alexian Brothers Health System’s acute-care and senior ministries divisions.
Dr. Earl Y. Cheng, M.D.
Dr. Earl Cheng is Professor of Urology at The Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and the Head of Pediatric Urology at The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He grew up in Evanston and attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate and medical school education. He completed his general surgery and urology residency at Northwestern. Dr. Cheng specializes in the surgical management of complex congenital malformations of the genitourinary tract and also conducts basic science research in tissue engineering. He has served in numerous leadership positions in national organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Pediatric Urology, and Spina Bifida Association of America.
Earl currently resides in Elmhurst with his wife, Noreen. Each of their five children have graduated from IC Grade School. Mary (’09), Christopher (’10), John (’12), and Garrett (’16) have graduated from ICCP, while Kevin (’18) is currently attending IC Catholic Prep.
Mr. John Howlett
John Howlett is an attorney and principal of the Elmhurst law firm of Howlett & Associates, Ltd. Mr. Howlett has been involved in government, public affairs and Elmhurst community service for over 30 years. Active at ICCP for over 25 years, John and his wife, Joanne, have four children who are graduates of IC grade school and high school.
Sr. Kathleen J. Sinclair, BVM
Sr. Kathleen Sinclair, BVM, serves at her congregation’s high school in Mundelein, IL as an administrator with primary responsibility as Director of Christian Service. Previously she served as Director of the Office of Institutional Advancement overseeing the annual fund, alumni relations, marketing, and database management.
Sr. Kathleen has held a variety of positions in educational organizations in both ministerial and business capacities. Ministerial positions include Campus Minister, DePaul University; Director of Residence Life, Clarke College; and Program Coordinator, Jesuit Volunteer Corps: Southwest. Business positions include Director of Sales, Loyola Press; Donor Relations, Sisters of Charity, BVM; and Director of Institutional Advancement, Carmel Catholic High School.
Sr. Kathleen received a Masters degree in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University, a Masters degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Northern Illinois University. She is a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and resides in Lake County, IL.
Mr. Scott Sutton
Scott Sutton is President of Management Two, Inc. (M2i). For more than 25 years, Scott has worked in technology consulting and construction project management. He has managed large and small projects, from the $150 million, 390,000 square feet Chicago Police Headquarters, to single office suites.
Prior to starting M2i, Sutton worked with IDG (Infrastructure Development Group), which specialized in developing and managing carrier hotels to house data and telecommunications infrastructure. While at Catalyst Consulting Group, Sutton formed a Smart Structures group to handle technology design and construction for large municipal projects. The Smart Structures group also handled technology audits for commercial property owners and managers. Clients included the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department.
Scott Sutton worked for Gilbane Building Company as a Construction Project Manager, and eventually became acting CIO (Chief Information Officer). Sutton also worked for the Advanced Technologies Group at Bechtel Corporation. He is a graduate of Purdue University, with a BS in Construction Engineering and Management (CNE).
Scott resides in Elmhurst with his wife, Becky (Cronin) ’84 and their three children, Megan ’12, Sean ’14 and Matthew ’17.
Dr. Don Hoffman, M.D.
After 36 years of caring for thousands of children in Elmhurst and the surrounding communities, Dr. Hoffman, a pediatrician and the Chief Executive Officer of the Elmhurst Clinic, retired in 2008. Dr. Hoffman was also a member of the Board of Trustees at Elmhurst Memorial Health Care for over 24 years and is currently on the Board of Directors at the Elmhurst Walk in Ministry. During his years as an IC parent, Don and his wife, Mary Ann, were active in the Parents’ and Booster Clubs. All eight of his children are graduates of IC – Michele ’84, Michael ’85, Mark ’86, Sean ’88, Elizabeth ’90, Stephen ’93, Katie ’95, and Carolyn ’96. Many of his grandchildren are graduates or currently attend ICCP, including Maddie ’15, Tim ’17, John ’17, and Michael ’18.
Very Rev. Thomas Paul, V. F.
Very Rev. Thomas Paul, V.F. has been the Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish since 2010. In this capacity he serves as an ex-officio member of the Board. Very Rev. Paul came to Immaculate Conception after serving as Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Naperville. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Joliet in 1977. Since that time he has served in a variety of parishes with schools, particularly in DuPage County. For several years, he has served on the Boards of other Catholic Schools, as well as the Diocesan School Board. Father Paul is a member of the Diocesan Finance Committee and serves as the Dean of the Eastern DuPage Deanery of the Diocese of Joliet. Father Paul is committed to the ongoing development of IC Catholic Prep based upon the foundation and vision of the school’s founders to nurture the mind, body and spirit of the students.
Ms. Pamela M. Levar
Pamela Levar is the Principal of IC Catholic Prep and also serves as an ex-officio member of the Board. Throughout her 39 years at ICCP, Ms. Levar held numerous teaching, coaching and moderating positions. Prior to being appointed Principal twelve years ago, she was the Assistant Principal/Dean of Students for eleven years. Ms. Levar holds two Master’s degrees in the field of education.
Mrs. Amy Fahey
