Dear Alumni, Prospective Parents, Benefactors and Friends –
On behalf of the Board of Directors, administration, faculty and staff, we would like to welcome you to IC Catholic Prep. Located in the heart of Elmhurst, we are a co-educational, college preparatory high school built on the solid foundation of the Catholic faith.
For 80 years, our talented faculty and staff have taken a genuine interest in each and every one of their students, empowering them to succeed. At ICCP, students will be challenged, motivated, and nurtured. They will receive the guidance and academic rigor of a true college prep curriculum, but it does not stop there. They also develop character, selflessness, and confidence. Students at ICCP capitalize on their opportunity to get involved and build a solid resume that allows them to enter the college of their choice.
In my 38 years at ICCP, I have learned there is one constant in the four year high school journey, and that is change. I like to think of it more in terms of transformation. First, there is the transformation of the mind as our students explore and challenge themselves in the classroom. There is also a spiritual transformation that takes place, as students become stewards of Jesus Christ through daily prayer, school liturgies, retreats and their desire to serve others. Finally, there is the physical transformation as the students grow and build strength and endurance through their teenage years.
Transformation does not just happen with our students. We are continually transforming ourselves as a school community as well. From our curriculum, with the addition of new advanced placement and fine arts courses, to our physical facilities – most recently we have added stadium lights to Plunkett Athletic Complex and made extensive renovations to our gymnasium and theater stage. The outcome of all of this transformation is a strengthened sense of belonging to something very special – IC Catholic Prep.
Each of us has or will be blessed by the strong tradition of IC. As teacher, coach, Dean, Principal, and President, my experiences with each of YOU have truly made me a better person, and for that I am grateful. Thank you for being an integral part of IC – its past, present, and future.
